She trained in York & Harrisburg while competing throughout the East Coast & into Canada.  She reached Open Championship level competing at Regional & National competitions.  She has performed at various venues throughout the region & also throughout Russia during her Missions Schooling. Having realized her enjoyment of teaching Irish Dancing, Crystal took the rigorous exam to become a certified Irish Dance teacher.  She passed the exam in October 2008..

Joan Benjamin

Set Dance Teacher

Joan Benjamin: 4 yrs. non-competitive Irish Dancing (Hooley) 1 yr. teaching non-competitive Irish Dancing (Hooley) 5 yrs. choreographing worship dance (Petra Christian Fellowship.)

Even with Irish Grandparents, Joan's “dancing career” started with Crystal about 4 years ago at "the Mill."  In “regular” life, she works as a night shift cardiac nurse.  She gets to use that (sometimes) as an excuse for flubbing a dance step!  Her passion and challenge is learning the WORD (i.e. The Bible) – to know it, defend it in our world and culture, and to live it in the community of believers.  She hopes that will always show in her time at the Hooley School
