How we Got Started

The first "Hooley" Irish dancers started as a group of home school students who met informally with Crystal at a local church in 2001. In the beginning, classes were focused only on learning Irish traditions and performing. When Crystal passed her TCRG in 2008, Hooley students were also allowed to start competing.

Although students are not required to compete, Crystal does encourage students to try the "feisianna" that initially pulled her into the Irish culture. Hooley frequently sends soloists and teams to compete in Regional, National, and World competitions. Their recent accomplishments at the 2013 Regional Championships include 2 World Qualifiers, 6 National Qualifiers, 16 Traditional Set placements including a 1st place, and five 4hand team placements.

Crystal also encourages her students to be involved in their communities and share the love of Irish Dance. The Hooley School performed at more than 30 local venues in 2013, and also offers a unique performance team called

Rince na Brio.

The Hooley School colors, blue and green, signify God's creation.

We strive to glorify God in everything we do, especially our dancing.

The Hooley School symbols include a Celtic Cross and a heart, signifying

our hearts toward God and our thankfulness for his gift on the cross.
