To register for advanced levels, you will need to have a Portal Profile with a teacher-approved level assigned. You can create your profile here, and then email crystal@hooleyirishdance.com to have your level assigned to your profile so you can view and register for classes in that level.

Advanced beginner
An Advanced Beginner has previously completed the Beginner softshoe curriculum, and is now ready for a 90 minute class that includes both softshoe and hardshoe training. An Advanced Beginner who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in each dance will advance to Novice class the following January. It is highly recommended at this level to attend class 2x a week.

Novice
A Novice dancer has previously placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in all of the Advanced Beginner dances, and is now ready for a 90 minute class learning Reels, Slip Jigs, Treble Jigs, Hornpipes, and Traditional Set. Novice dancers are qualified to wear their own solo dress and to compete Traditional Set and Ceili at the Regional Championships. A Novice who places 1st in a dance will advance that dance to Prizewinner the following January. It is highly recommended at this level to attend class 2x a week.

Prizewinner
A Prizewinner dancer has previously placed 1st in the Novice dances, and is now ready for a 90 minute class learning Reels, Slip Jigs, Treble Jigs, Hornpipes, and Traditional Set. preliminary champion
A Preliminary Championship dancer has previously placed 1st in all of the Prizewinner dances, and is now ready for a 2 hour class focusing on a softshoe round, a hardshoe round, and contemporary set. At this level, dancers are permanently qualified to compete in the Regional Championships, and can qualify there to compete in the North American and/or World Championships. A Preliminary Champion who places 1st overall 3x will advance to Open Championships the following January. It is highly recommended at this level to attend class 3x a week.

An Open Championship dancer has previously placed 1st in Preliminary Championships 3x, and is now ready for a 2 hour class focusing on a softshoe round, a hardshoe round, and a contemporary set. Open Championships is the highest level, so dancers are permanently qualified to compete in the Regional Championships and North American Championships, and can qualify there to compete at the World Championships. It is highly recommended at this level to attend class 3x a week.
